Il Quartiere Intelligente riapre il suo giardino con il progetto partecipativo dell\u2019artista austriaco Edgar Honetschl\u00e4ger “GoBugsGo_Sugomania”\u00a0che mira a sensibilizzare il pubblico sull\u2019importanza degli insetti, anello cruciale e maggiormente in pericolo nell\u2019ecosistema.<\/p>\n

GoBugsGo_Sugomania, presentato in Italia per la prima volta al Quartiere Intelligente,\u00a0\u00e8 una performance collettiva di due giorni in cui l\u2019artista \u201calchimista” insieme al pubblico presente preparer\u00e0 \u00a0delle passate di pomodori, come nella migliore tradizione napoletana. Le speciali conserve confezionate dall’artista con l’aiuto dei partecipanti alla performance saranno un incentivo per l’adesione di nuovi membri (BUGGIES) \u00a0e \u00a0per finanziare la ONG Gobugsgo – http:\/\/gobugsgo.org\/it\/<\/p>\n

Scopo dell\u2019evento \u00e8 una raccolta fondi per acquisire appezzamenti di terra da restituire alla natura e dichiarare\u00a0NON HUMAN ZONE. E\u2019 in corso di definizione la convenzione con il Museo e Real Bosco di Capodi monte per la prima NON HUMAN ZONE di Napoli<\/p>\n

Ad oggi la ONG conta pi\u00f9 di 1000 membri, e sono state acquisite e dichiarate zone non umane tre aree della dimensione di 7 ettari.<\/p>\n

La performance si svolger\u00e0 nel giardino del Quartiere Intelligente nel pieno rispetto delle regole per il distanziamento sociale.<\/p>\n

L\u2019evento \u00e8 sostenuto dal Forum Austriaco di Cultura di Roma, patrocinato dal Museo Madre e dal Comune di Napoli – II Municipalit\u00e0.
\nNegli ultimi 20 anni l’80% degli insetti e successivamente il 40% degli uccelli sono scomparsi dalla superficie della terra. L’assenza di pioggia combinata all\u2019utilizzo di pesticidi, all\u2019 inquinamento e a molti altri fattori negativi, hanno fatto estinguere sempre pi\u00f9 specie, ma senza le loro capacit\u00e0 di impollinazione il raccolto di frutta e verdura diminuir\u00e0 drasticamente. Farfalle, cicale e lucciole si stanno lentamente trasformando in creature del passato. Un motivo pi\u00f9 che sufficiente per Honetschl\u00e4ger per riflettere e sviluppare una contro azione sia a livello locale che a livello globale, spingendolo a fondare nel 2018 l\u2019ONG Gobugsgo, un progetto che aspira ad avviare misure collettive a favore del ripristino dell\u2019habitat naturale degli insetti e degli uccelli in via di estinzione.<\/p>\n

Lanciato nel 2018 alla Kunsthalle di Vienna e successivamente presentato nel 2019 al Forum Stadtpark di Graz, al Ober\u00f6sterreichische Landesgalerie di Linz, al Museum der Moderne Salzburg,\u00a0Frankfurter Kustverein, Kunstverein Eisenstadt, Glaspalast Augsburg,\u00a0Gobugsgo \u00e8 un’iniziativa multidisciplinare che vede la partecipazione di storici dell’arte, avvocati, economisti, biologi, ecologisti, agricoltori e mira a creare una pratica collettiva invitando ogni individuo ad attivarsi concretamente per salvare il pianeta dal collasso totale.<\/p>\n

“GoBugsGo, proprio come il Quartiere Intelligente, mira a stabilire un ponte e un legame tra le arti e la natura. GoBugsGo non si limita solo a sviluppare una maggiore consapevolezza all’interno della comunit\u00e0 artistica sulla necessit\u00e0 di preservare la natura, ma, al di l\u00e0 del suo aspetto politico, mira ad uno \u00a0sforzo comune nel definirlo come un progetto artistico di un singolo artista – un obiettivo per l’evoluzione, un nuovo e futuro passo nell’arte.\u00a0La nostra societ\u00e0 inequivocabilmente protegge l’arte. Se i talebani in Afghanistan fanno saltare in aria antiche statue di Buddha siamo sotto shock, stessa cosa se i turisti vandalizzano statue del Rinascimento italiano. \u2026.E se, come faceva Marcel Duchamp con gli objet trouv\u00e9, un artista dichiarasse che un pezzo di terra \u00e8 arte? La nostra societ\u00e0 non protegge il mondo naturale perch\u00e9 la natura \u00e8 non-civilt\u00e0. E se un artista dichiarasse che un pezzo del mondo naturale \u00e8 arte – una scultura viva in continua evoluzione? Esso dovrebbe godere della stessa protezione di cui godono tutti i beni culturali? GoBugsGo protegge la natura attraverso un\u2019azione collettiva, l’artista Edgar Honetschl\u00e4ger la\u00a0protegge\u00a0dichiarandola cultura\u201d.\u00a0(E.H.)<\/p>\n

Edgar Honetschl\u00e4ger \u00e8 un artista visivo, sceneggiatore, regista e attivista ambientale, nato e cresciuto in Austria. Cosmopolita per vocazione, ha trascorso gli ultimi decenni tra gli Stati Uniti, il Giappone, il Brasile e l\u2019Italia, periodi durante i quali ha assistito ad una sempre crescente distruzione degli habitat naturali, con danni irreversibili avvenuti ad una velocit\u00e0 allarmante a causa dell\u2019agricoltura intensiva, dell\u2019urbanizzazione, dell\u2019eccessivo consumismo e spreco di risorse. La sua pratica artistica mette in discussione i luoghi comuni culturali, riflette sul concetto di individualismo e sul rapporto dell\u2019umanit\u00e0 con la natura. Attualmente vive tra Vienna e il Lazio.\u00a0Ha partecipato a Documenta X e a festival cinematografici internazionali come la Berlinale.\u00a0Nel 2006 ha fondato l’EDOKO Institute Film Production Ltd. Vienna, e nel 2018 l’organizzazione non governativa GoBugsGo.<\/p>\n

Possiamo solo giocarci la carta politica e proteggere la terra se tutti i cittadini parteciperanno per i loro quartieri. Gli elettori locali – pi\u00f9 siamo meglio \u00e8 – uniti dietro un appezzamento di terra faranno riflettere due volte i politici prima di distruggerlo.<\/p>\n

On September 26th and 27th Quartiere Intelligente will re-open to visitors with the participatory project “GoBugsGo_Sugomania”\u00a0by Austrian artist Edgar Honetschl\u00e4ger. The project aims to raise public awareness on the importance of insects, one of the most endangered species in the ecosystem.<\/p>\n

GoBugsGo_Sugomania, presented in Italy for the first time at Quartiere Intelligente,\u00a0is a two days collective performance, where the \u201calchemist\u201d artist together with the people who come visit, transfers biologic tomatoes into delicious SUGO, as in the best Neapolitan tradition. The special canned tomatoes made by the artist and the people of Napoli will be used as incentives to gain more BUGGIES (members) for the NGO GoBugsGo – http:\/\/gobugsgo.org\/it\/<\/p>\n

The purpose of the event is a fundraiser to buy a land and give it back to nature, and declare it a NON HUMAN ZONE. An agreement with the Museo e Real Bosco di Capodimonte for the first NON HUMAN ZONE in Naples is being defined.
\nBy now the NGO has more than 1000 member (BUGGIES) and three patches of land the size of 7 hectares have been or are on the way to be acquired and declared non-human zones.<\/p>\n

The performance will take place in the garden of Quartiere Intelligente, in full compliance with the rules of social distancing.
\nPLACES ARE LIMITED, in order to participate to the performance as a performer or as the audience it is necessary to write an email to: info@quartiereintelligente.it booking the day, September 26th or 27th, and the preferred time slot:

The event is supported by Forum Austriaco di Cultura di Roma, patronized by the Madre Museum and by Comune di Napoli – II Municipalit\u00e0.<\/p>\n

In the last 20 years 80% of the insects and subsequently 40% of the bird population have disappeared from the surface of the Earth. Absence of rain in combination with pesticides, light pollution etc. let more and more species vanish, but, without their pollination skills the harvest of vegetables and fruits diminish dramatically. Butterflies, cicadas and fireflies are slowly turning into creatures from a farfetched past. For this reason Honetschl\u00e4ger invites to pause and develop counteractions both locally and globally, prompting him to found in\u00a0 2018 the Non Profit Organization GoBugsGo, a project dedicated to initiating collectively driven ecological restoration measures in favor of re-establishing the battered insect and bird population\u2019s natural habitat.<\/p>\n

2018 Honetschl\u00e4ger\u2019s Non Profit Organization GoBugsGo was launched at the Kunsthalle Vienna, later, in 2019, it was presented at the Forum Stadtpark of Graz, at the Ober\u00f6sterreichische Landesgalerie of\u00a0 Linz, at the Museum der Moderne Salzburg, Frankfurter Kustverein, Kunstverein Eisenstadt, Glaspalast Augsburg. GoBugsgo is a trans-disciplinary initiative in collaboration with art historians, lawyers, economists, biologists, ecologists, farmers and real estate developers which aims at invoking a collective practice that invites each and every individual to become active in its effort to save our planet from total collapse.<\/p>\n

\u201cGoBugsGo, just like Quartiere Intelligente, aims to create a bond between arts and \u2018nature\u2019. It\u00a0is not just about establishing more awareness for nature preservation within the art community but, beyond its political aspect, it seek a communal effort as an art project of an individual artist – an aim for evolution, a next, a new step in the arts. Our society has a consensus when it comes to protecting art. If the Taliban in Afghanistan blow up ancient Buddha statues we are in shock, if tourists paint on Italian Renaissance statues likewise\u2026 What if an artist, as Marcel Duchamp’s with the Objet Trouv\u00e9, declares a piece of land to be art? Our society has no consensus in protecting the natural world. Nature is anti-civilization. If an artist declares a patch of the natural world to be art – an ever changing alive sculpture? It should be enjoying the same protection that all cultural goods enjoy. GoBugsGo protects nature through collective action, the artist Edgar Honetschl\u00e4ger by declaring nature to be culture.”\u00a0(E.H.)<\/p>\n

Edgar Honetschl\u00e4ger is a visual artist, screen writer, filmmaker and environmental activist born and raised in Austria. Cosmopolitan by vocation, he spent the past quarter century in the USA, Japan, Brazil and Italy. During his travels he has been facing an ever-increasing destruction of natural habitats and immense and irreversible damages caused by intensive farming, real estate development, excessive consumerism and waste of resources at alarming speed. In his artistic practice he\u2019s been focusing on questioning cultural givens, the concept of individualization and mankind\u2019s relation with nature. He lives between Vienna and northern Lazio. He participated in art events like Documenta X as well as international film festivals like the Berlinale. In 2006 he founded the EDOKO Institute Film Production Ltd.
